This is my rear Michelin Pilot Road tyre after 9400km. A mix of comuting, day rides and weekenders including some high speed twisties (just love Thunderbolts and the Oxley). While there's still a fair bit more tread before the wear bars, it is less than 2mm and the profile is now so "flat" the bike is tracking every road irregularity. So for handling and safety it's time for new rubber.
9400km on sports touring rubber on a 125HP, 210K bike is very impressive mileage. Espeacially so is the grip of these tyres. Ok in wet (not great), but as good as almost anything else in the dry with good longevity. Guess what I replaced it with - yep, another Michelin Pilot Road! |
